Mine, too, in all but one coop!Mine of course do the opposite. The most prized spot is closest to the door.

The heart was for the chooks and Babs doing well. Too bad you didn't sell anything at the market - I know a little extra $ right now would be helpful. We have grapes!!!

Very nasty tasting concord grapes...so I'm going to make grape jelly!

The vines are all over. Dad says tomorrow we will do something to cultivate it and keep it safer for the dogs. Had a cousin that almost lost her dog to grape toxicity, it was a hefty vet bill.

Seriously a TON of grapes out there!

Yes this one has a bigger, pinker comb than the other two, it's also larger and a darker orange. I'll keep an eye on it.

It'll keep an eye on me too.

Getting wormies tossed in by kiddo...but I caught her only tossing in BSF and dropping the mealworms outside the pen! Guess she didn't feel like giving them the mealies...

Bab is 90% healed up now. She has a weird bump on her neck and a bit of a scar already but she looks so much better.
Didn't sell anything at the market today, we were also the only ones there. I hope Dad doesn't give up on doing them, his coasters are really cool and I know if we got actual customers he'd sell them. View attachment 3933689
I really thought I was losing my marbles.Ooops, yup.
It would need to be somewhere between 5% & 7.5% of their daily intake to be toxic (based on the supposed average intake of a standard hen to be between 1/3 & 1/2 lb of feed). That is quite a bit, still, even if not the volume I incorrectly calculated!![]()
It’s not us losing our minds, more like stepping into a new plane of existence (having chickens)!!!I really thought I was losing my marbles.
No one understands that! It’s not us losing our minds, more like stepping into a new plane of existence (having chickens)!!!
The cats help with mice abatement. But they also bring the fleasYeah, they come in the house and with them comes the bugs. Mostly fleas, but I have a solution:
When I feel something crawling on me I have a roll of duct tape very close. Smack it with the tape, it sticks, problem solved.![]()
I think Orange County California is building condos about that size!We have a perch directly over the pop door. Our barn coop is elevated, w/ a ladder ramp leading up to the pop door.
The coop was prefabricated & as we assembled it the coop offered 5 perch slots to pick from so we chose the lowest middle slot over the pop door. We never needed to install more than one perch. Never been a problem over the pop door.
