You are a sweetheart. Yes I know that it can take a long time for something to surface and I will be very alert to any signs of anything. But for now I am just wanting to make sure someone will check on me in the night.
So I have done number 1). Specifically, I have set up a group of friends to text me and if I don't respond to call me and if I don't respond to send the police for a wellness check.
I will see about number 2). Not sure I need an MD. I have no symptoms apart from the painful swelling/bruise developing on my head and my fat lip (I think I must have bitten it as I got clonked).
No nausea/vomiting, no photophobia, no dizziness, no slurring of words (have been on the phone constantly with anxious friends!), no confusion. No neck stiffness beyond my usual old lady everything stiffness. Frankly I don't even have a headache any more!
If I get any symptoms tonight I will go to the Emergency Room and if I get anything over the next few days I will consult a doc.
I have also told the chickens that they have to wait at least 24 hours before I go back out to the woods to get more logs for them!
Really glad you are feeling better.

Candle the eggs. Then you will know for sure.

I actually toss any eggs that I find in hidden spots as I have no idea how old they are. Though I do check the regular hiding spots daily especially now that it’s freezing cold out.

But I make my gang go to bed in the henhouse so no one is left to hide out on a nest. And I remove eggs daily from the broody brats.
No. More. Babies!p
NO MORE BABIES!!! And you are correct!!!
I go through a lot of feed every day. I don’t leave feed out for them anymore!!! :old :jumpy

Good grief! That’s just terrible! We’re you wearing a ball cap? I am always banging my head on the garage door due to the peak on the ball cap impeding my vision upwards. Owwww!
Yes a ball cap or the hood on a hoodie usually.

TeeHee... cute sign🙂.

You know, my Mom decades ago bought yards of Christmas wrap that lasted 10 yrs before it got used up... but just like Mrs Bob's paper it will pass as birthday wrap too. Family members or close friends should know your love for hens very well by now & who probably don't care if wrap has snowflakes or a chicken adorned in a Christmas hat?

We bought up comic heroes paper in the past & wrapped Christmas, graduation, & birthday gifts w/it till it got used up. Kids & adults loved the humor.
Yes. You are correct. All presents, no matter the occasion, get chicken paper.

I have to duck to get into/out of the coop, or I hit my head on the door frame. I got in the habit of gripping the crosspiece of the frame. That serves two purposes: It aids my balance and keeps me from hitting my head.
Good thought but my hands are usually full, food, water, chicken, etc. Now on the way out....🤔

As long as there are males in the flock, that's the risk one takes w/eggs. My farm mom put drakes, ganders, & roo's in the freezer. The laying hens were penned separately so she got clear eggs & didn't have to hunt the farm for random nests.
I don’t have the heart or the time anymore to remove roosters anymore
