Hi! I inherited two chickens when I bought my house. I got limited instructions but noticed that one the hens wasn’t running away from me the other night. When I picked her up to inspect her I noticed she had a ton of maggots on her underside. I’m not sure how long they were there, but quickly took actions soaking and removing maggots and spraying vertericyn several times a day for the last three days. I am now concerned that the wound may be infected. If so what next steps I should take. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

Hard to tell if it's infected, or not. But the black looks like dead/dry tissue.
Do you have anything to moisten the areas to help it heal properly?

I haven’t! Is there something in particular that is good for chickens?
Plain non pain Relieving Triple Antibiotic Ointment, or vaseline/petroleum Jelly can be used for moistening the wounds. Just make sure they're cleaned regularly before each application of a moisturizing agent.
