I just stopped putting water in their house and very happy with that choice. I have never had food in there.

My ducks do not get food or water in their house. They get put to bed once the sun starts going down and are let out in the early morning to drink, eat and swim.

Use Amiga's water station idea, it contains all the mess for me. Providing food at night keeps them coming back into their pen before dusk, and of course they need water with that too. Also water at night increases egg production.
