Food for chickens

We are getting set up and will be getting chickens in the next week or two. I have access to a juice bars waste.They currently through away about 2 five gallon buckets of this daily, I can get it at no cost.. Mostly carrots, celery with parsley, apple ginger mixed in. I was wondering how much of this I can supplement as food. Plan on getting hens no less than 4 months old when we start.. Most of what I am reading kind of food is this is more of a treat..

Unsure but sounds like it would be good for them. You need to get yourself a feeder pig - it would go to town on that!
