    Hi,
    Where does one get this?

Also in winter, can we just put some play sand in their run for them to roll around in?
    Would that be ok?
    Thanks in advance,
    Angela

I was fortunate enough to find DE available at our farmer's co-op. Then they stopped getting the food grade and started getting the non food grade. I raised a fuss and they're back to food grade.
If you can't find it locally, you can order it online or contact spatcher (a BYC member) via PM. He sells it at a reasonable price and will ship it to you quickly.
I think some play sand would be fine.

Check out my Food Grade DE page.

At the bottom, there's a list of places where you can find it.

Playsand is okay to add to their run. I usually add some to their favorite dust bathing spots.

    Hope this helps!
