What's normal water consumption for 1 week old chicks (I have 8)? I am putting a quart size jar of water and they only seem to be drinking about 1/8th of a quart. I read that they usually drink alot of water, so i'm starting to get concerned.
On the other hand, if I put a quart bottle of chick starter in there, it's all gone by the time I get home for the day. Although a good bit of it has been splashed out of the feeder. I have HW cloth as the brooder floor and below it is a removable tray, so the food is all falling through the cloth and they're not eating what they consumed. Even though alot of it is falling through into the poop tray, they're still eating alot.
Is this normal?
