foods that chickens should not eat

    it seems like chickens can eat anything. I want to know what they cant eat.

    I've heard green potato leaves are really bad for chickens and tomato leaves too. I've never let them near my garden simply because of that.

    Yes, potato and tomatoes are in the nightshade family so the leaves are toxic to most animals.

    Other things they shouldn't have include avocados, coffee, chocolate, any type of alcohol, or anything that is strongly flavored (things like onions and garlic will give eggs a funky taste).

    Also I should clarify that tomatoes and potatoes are fine to feed them it's just the leaves that are bad! (My chickens go NUTS for tomatoes that's how I trained them to eat from my hand. )

    Yep, rhubarb leaves are toxic to both chickens and humans.
