Foot growth

My Old English Game chicken is 10 years old. She has a growth on her foot, starting where the toes branch and curling up in a semicircle then down to the ground between her toes. It has taken a few months to reach this length. it is starting to trip her when she walks but also looks like it might be going to drop off. It looks a bit like an extra (but deformed) toe. Anyone come across this before?

Could you post a pic? That may help.

Given the healthy age of your hen, perhaps she has started to develop a spur like roos usually do, but it is deformed? If it is a spur, they can be trimmed/removed.
