Can anyone help me with this one? This Lemon Cuckoo Orph has sores on her feet. I used antibacterial soap, wash, then apply antibiotic cream. It cleared up once and now it's back again. It does not look like bumble foot. Scale someone suggested, but this is the only chick that has this problem. I am continuing the ointment and washing with anti bacterial soap..what is it and what else can I do...She has had a cold too and I've given her antibiotics for that as well..She's just a little mess...The sores cover the top of her feet aaas well as the bottoms

What does the litter look like or the area where she walks around? Foot scald can occur when walking in areas with a lot of manure. Wet areas also cause problems. Staph infection (which is the bacteria in bumblefoot) can cause external infection. I would try the treatment before that helped, or she may need a course of antibiotics such as amoxicillin. Epsom salts work very well added to warm water to soak the feet and promote healing.

I had a rooster get this. I'm not really sure what you can do. But what I did was clean the area every day with warm, soapy water and then swab with peroxide or iodine. (I'm a nurse so my guy was definitely a patient). Then I lightly wrapped it with corona ointment, gauze, and some vetwrap to hold it all on. Keep the wrap light so the chicken can still move easily. He didn't really appreciate his bandage, but I got it scabbed over to where it wouldn't need wrapped anymore. Wish I was more help. Hope your chickie gets better!

It's clean newspaper. No saw dust. I wash and clean every day. It came once, did the above and it went away. Now it's back. Mostly on top of feet, more so now underneath this time.

Thanks, i'll try epsom salt and peroxide. I use antibiotic cream, anti bacterial soap and clean surroundings. She's been a wuss since I got her....Still trying to help her though. She also gets medicated feed, vitamins with electrolytes, and Duramycin this time. Gallimycin plusVet rx.

x2 It might be Footpad Dermatitis. Here's a link on causes:

Thank you for the article on foot dermatitis. I read this and perhaps this is what is causing it. I place clean newspaper down twice a day. A tray holds the waterer so no water gets in the box. Thanks you for your interest...I think that can be the problem.
