I'm from North Idaho and need chickens that can take really cold temps. I keep my coop warm with a heat lamp and a warmer for my 5 gal. water can. Can I put fertilized eggs under two broody hens who are sitting TOGETHER on 15 or so eggs? They're my last remaining hens after a Gray Wolf took out my whole coop within 5 minutes with no sound. My 3 yorkies were barking at my sliding glass door is the only way I saw the WOLF. It had been 10 feet from my front door because I found my beautiful RR hen's feathers there. I now keep my hens Safer with wire and never let them out if I'm not going to be home.

. I guess it depends on your hens, some have trouble when they brood together, stolen eggs, hurt or killed chicks. I had 2 broody banty hens that did fine together, they shared custody of their eggs and chicks. Keep a watch on them if you keep them together at the first sign of trouble separate them. Good luck.
