Found chick under water dish/gave CPR!

no joke! i found a little EE trapped under a water dish barely alive. head tilted back, beak open, one eye would not open, one wing bent in odd position. limp neck, but stiff body.

all i could think of was CPR.

i blocked the nostrils and blew VERY gently into the mouth. then i massaged it's throat and ribs.

repeated 2 more times. she perked right up and got a drink of water! moving slow, but getting right back to herself!

just had to share. i don't know if it will work in other instances, but it did today.

to be perfectly honest there was a fleeting moment when i thought, "YOU CANNOT PUT YOUR MOUTH ON THAT CHICKEN!"

so i just closed my eyes and did it. the following 'puffs' i didn't freak out for, since i survived touching 'chicken lips' the first go round.
