So a couple weeks back I found this little duckling in my backyard with no mother in sight (I looked for some time). Well it was a little yellow duckling with a little bit darker face, so I did some research and assumed it was just a pekin duck. Well now that its getting bigger his tail feathers are white but the feather around his wings are starting to turn brown.. I'm not sure if maybe it is a white runner duck (more research) or if those are just baby feathers and it is still a pekin. I do not care what type of duck I just would like to know so I can read up on them.

P.S. the picture for my profile is a picture of it as a baby... if that helps any.

Sounds like a fawn and white runner to me. If she/he stands erect like a penguin she/he is for sure a runner, she/he could be a solid white, but with you saying she/he is darker in the face it's a fawn and white runner. More recent pictures would be nice :)

Here's a fawn and white runner duckling picture from Google

Here's a better picture of his brown feathers. I'm thinking it's going to be a white runner because his tail feathers are white

If there are brown feathers on the wings, it will not be a white runner. If it is a runner, it will likely be a fawn and white one
