Hi all - I've been a reader for a bout a year now - this is my first post. We went to let the chickens out this morning and found our prize roo dead. He was laying on the ground beneath his perch with what appears to be a broken neck. No blood or mauling evident. We can't figure out what happened.
We saw an opossum in the coop about a week ago devouring eggs and wonder if he would be the culprit? We found a spot we are guessing he squeezed in (although wow what a squeeze!) and hadn't yet repaired it - that was slated for tomorrow. But haven't been missing eggs this week so didn't think he had been back...
Our Roo was a big beautiful boy about 1.5 years old.
