four year old white silkie roo is turning black!

my rooster, Peepers, has spontaneously grown a black tail feather! At the base of his other feathers, you can see where they're turning a dark grey color. I'm stumped! Has anyone ever heard of a rooster changing colors?

Sometimes their feathers change colors a little after they molt. I have a speckled Sussex roo who gets darker and darker mahogany every time he molts. He is very beautiful, but he definitely had more white spots when before he went through his 1st molt. I also had an all white hen who grew 2 black feathers on one wing. So, I believe it's normal.....or my chickens are abnormal

Hm that's so interesting! Maybe we just have odd chickens
