Okay, I'll admit I am non-mechanical and a little OCD when it comes to these things, but...... I am attaching the Foy's door to the motor and the string to attach does not pull out. It says to attach the door to the string and adjust the knot so that the door closes at the proper position. If not adjusted right, the motor can burn up. Well okay, with gentle tugging, the string does not come out so do I attach it to the 2" loop that is sticking out and leave the knot where it is? It says boldly not to supply power to the unit until it is in place and everything is hooked up. Feel free to laugh at me but really, how does it work? Thanks!

You need to put the batteries in and switch the jumper wire to.....I think it's 5 and 6 or maybe it's a b. I don't have mine anymore (only because my new set up allows for 24/7 access to the run.) Just change the black wire.
