frayed wings on japanese

If anyone could tell me how to keep the wings from fraying on my japanese it would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure... is it because they are dragging them on the ground? Maybe deep soft litter. Else it's like the feather legged birds who break them all off unless they are caged or on soft grass all the time.

they drag on the ground-my cochins feather feet are ok but the japanese wings are poor shape

i will try more pine shavings

It goes with being that close to the ground-no matter how deep the litter you'll get frayed wings. Judges understand this if that's your concern.
