I need to go hug my dogs now...
Heres another one..
I had a border collie mix that we all loved very much... Willow.
My uncle, he lived in Florida, he used to come up every summer ..for the whole summer, and spend it with us. He had also been battling cancer for several years...went into remission..etc...
well.. hes a big dog lover and his golden had passed away a few months before he came up to visit...
well..while he was up here visiting, i saw how much he loved Willow.(and she, him...).. i knew he was lonely in florida..etc..
so before he left i asked him if hed take Willow back with him to florida..(talk about killing me... ugh..) but i did it for my uncle.
That dog and him were inseperable...she sat with him all day in his chair... she made his last years VERY happy.. and i'm so thankful for that.
his cancer came back hard.... and they told him there were no more treatments for him. He started to get sicker and sicker.(it all happend very quickly..)....and Willow didnt want to leave his side EVER... she KNEW... and she would growl at people when they came and bothered him too much.... she KNEW what he wanted.
Finally..it got to the point that hospice had to be brought in..and Willow had to be crated..because she didnt want those people next to him...
now this is a true story..i swear it on my uncle... my family still talks about how when my uncle passed away... right as he was passing away..Willow started to howl in her crate... *i'm getting all stinkin teary eyed now..ugh!* She KNEW....
Shes still living in Florida..(I, of course, offered to take her back here... so she wouldnt be burden to my aunt.... but my aunt said that she wants to keep her..she gives her comfort. )
I'll have to see if i can scan a pic of them together and post it on here...
