A fox destroyed our whole flock. We are looking to get new chickens. It would be great not to have to start from chicks. Any suggestions for breeders/hatcheries near md?

I suggest you talk to your local feed store or neighbors with chickens to find out where they got theirs and if they are pleased with the experience. You could also try a Google or Bing search for hatcheries that might be close by. I'm biased due to a bad experience getting chicks through Craigslist but not everyone has trouble going that route. No matter where you get them, I think it's worth the extra time to check out their reputation and the health of their birds.
