Quote:Those are medium size kites. My friend in our kite club has a 1,000 sq ft kite.

Two years ago I was at the Niagara, New York festival where the world's largest kite was flown.
It is the size of an Olympic swimming pool. 10,400 sq ft. It flies on a 20 ton breaking strength line line & 1,000 people could stand inside this kite.

It was anchored to a dump truck that had to be filled with concrete blocks after it was dragged across the field on the first day of the show.

SO cool! I love flying kites. I take my kids out to fly kites, and they get bored with it, so I usally am the only one standing there flying the kite.
