free range question??

Ok so i got 7 new hens yesterday. I want to let them out to free range them. But will they go bck into the coop after being here for only a day?

I usually like to keep them in the coop a couple days. But if you keep their food and water in the coop, maybe they will go back in. Leave them in there for a t least a few hours anyway. How big is your property? Can they go far? And if they do not go in, just wait until they are settled in where ever they chose, and then you can just pick them up and carry them back at dusk.

Ok thank you i think i will keep them in until mid week. Any my property is about 1 1/2 acres but my first hens stay in the back of the house (about 1 acre) and i live in a neighborhood but it is fairly rural.
