We have 2 white broad breasted turkeys. They are, of course, meat birds.

I would like to get them out of the pens for some fresh grass and bugs, etc.

Can they free range with the hens or is it not a good idea?

    Thanks-

Ours free ranged, and they approached 30 pounds! They had feed too, of course. I'd definitely recommend ranging!

At what age did you begin free ranging them? Ours are approaching 8 weeks, and have well outgrown the chicks they're housed with.

    Thanks again!!

Quote:Wow! What kind were they? Ours were the regular Broad-Breasted Whites, and they weren't that big. But maybe you just fed yours longer... or you had a nice strain... [IMG]
