How old should my chickens be before I turn them out to free range? Do they have to be grown? How old is grown anyway? When they start laying eggs? They are just about 5 weeks now...They will be coming back into the run at night, at least that is how I am planning it. We'll see if they cooperate with that.

I believe they have to have full feathers in to go outside. So that's around 5weeks or so?
Then wait another 6weeks or so to get used to around coop to go free range so they don't get lost.
