Now that fair is over it's time to thin our flock just a tad. We've got a standard sized cockerel. Not sure what breed he is but he is mostly white with some brownish coloring. He's nice looking but Joe, our Favorelle roo doesn't like him so we need to find him a new home.

We also have a golden sebright trio. There's another banty cockerel that's mostly black with some gold coloring. The fair judge told the kids it's a sebright, too.

All of the birds are around 5 months old and healthy. We live in Augusta and I am willing to meet somewhere if you're not too far away.

** we also have two silkie hens that are laying, as well as a couple of red sex links and a couple other pullets. Some of them started laying while we were at fair last week.

I will let you know. We just had a visit from our friendly local village policeman saying all "barnyard" animals have to be gone by Friday. I'm working on where to put them as well a plan to fight this eviction notice. I should know something in a couple of days.

Hmmm... so what is considered barnyard animals anyway?

Ok. I found a place to temporarily relocate the birds. Next week should be fine

Will do. Thanks! As heartbreaking as it's going to be to have to rehome some of our birds it helps to know they'll be going to good homes. Thanks.

I'm down to the four sebrights (two pullets and two cockerels) as well as the white cockerel. Looks like Joe may have to go too

. I need to get them a home in the next couple of days and I am willing to drive and meet someone.
