Fresh chcken manure on lawn? Too hot/fresh to water into lawn?

dh is asking if fresh chicken poop is too hot/will burn the grass to water down into lawn or should he pooper scooper it up?

I think he's nuts, but he's a gardener and thinks about stuff liker that.

I think it is too hot... supposed to sit in a compost pile for a year before you can use it.

Heck I don't scoop it... I try wash it away with water, but never scoop it.

I just go around and wash it into the lawn.... no burning, and the grass is green and beautiful!

Here is my answer to this. Ours cows are currently grazing on the front lawn, and the chickens follow the cows and break up the manure. The chickens leave their droppings which get watered into the lawn. I have never had a better looking lawn at any time.

So in short, just water it in.
