So the farmers are doing their first cutting right now. I am friends with one of them and asked if i could snag a couple handfuls before it was dry for my hens. Is it okay for them? Will it flavor the eggs? I know there are a few(very scattered) bunches growing in the field they free range in now so i am assuming they have eaten it before.

Alfalfa (notice the correct spelling) that is bred for use as a forage crop is probably the finest green feed available.
Will it flavor the eggs- you bet! And color them too!
Trust me., You will be pleased with the outcome of feeding them this legume.
