Reading a previous thread about protien and possably utilizing fish. If you have access to either fresh fish or fish scraps, How would you prepare it for the chickens? Chopped up or in a bender or whole / cooked or raw etc. What about bones etc? Thanks Joey

If it's cooked it will be easier for them to pick off the bones. As for the bones ours seem to leave them alone after all the meat is gone. Looks like piranah's ate it! I do think it's a great way to utilize something that may go to waste. To cook just bake until just cooked or boil quickly. Some here have said that too much fish in the diet can effect egg flavor so don't over do it a couple of times per week should be ok.[IMG]

All the junk fish my husband catches I boil outside on the grill and toss it in the coop when they are cool. They chow on it and leave the bones.
