I have been raising chickens, ducks and geese for almost 2 yrs now. I guess I am still new at this. My question is about the hard boiled eggs. We eat hard boiled eggs all the time but sometimes when we peel them the whites of the eggs are "mushy" and the texture is not very good. This only happens with the chicken eggs and not the duck and it seems to happen only about once in 20 or so eggs. Does anyone know why this might be?

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. If your chickens are free ranging, it could be just something that they have eaten that is causing it. :thumbsup

Thank you for responding :) They do free range all the time. I'm just wondering why it would be just a few eggs here and there...?

Sometimes they are a few days old before boiling but I guess that is still pretty fresh huh? LOL

Hello Luvmybirdies, greetings from Kentucky... Do you think maybe it might be the heat is different at times? Are you always using the same type of metal pans too?
