Fresh turkey questions. pics added yum thanksgiving

    Just processed our first turkey ever, I should have researched first but now what? How long can they be refrigerated and do I refrigerate before I freeze?
    and what do I wrap them in! I will try and get pictures up

    I don't have experience with turkeys, but when my hubby has gotten a deer when I didn't have time to fully process it, we have gutted, skinned, and quartered it then put it in large unscented white kitchen trash bags to stow it in the freezer until I have time to thaw and finish processing. Maybe not the ideal medium for wrapping meat in the freezer but I have used the trash bags many times and and had no problems. You could also wrap in cellophane first to minimize the contact with the trash bag if you like. Just an idea, maybe someone else will have a better one [​IMG]
