The cheapest so far is McMurray with the frying pan special for $32.00 I'd like to find the cheapest shipping method also. Thanks! [IMG]

Be aware that the "frying Pan Special" is probably left over roos from laying or dual-purpose birds, not true meat birds. While they will taste yummy, it will take them a loooonng time to get there, 4-6months would be my guess.

We ended up going with McMurray, because the shipping was the cheapest here.

    Good luck!

Try welp's hatchery. Their shipping is included in the price of the chicks. [IMG]

Cheapest by far is one with quality chicks that arrive on time. Up front cost becomes a very minor portion of the total cost of raising.

I have always believed you get what you pay for....

That said it depends on the breed you want . Fast or slow cornish? red broilers? other?

The Murray McMurray Frying Pan Special is primarily Leghorns. If you read the description in the catalog it tells you that. However they do offer a BBQ Special which is made up of meat birds at a discount price. It is composed of Cornish Roasters and/or Jumbo Cornish. Their choice of variety and sex. Since they do not ship Cornish Roasters after the middle of July, if you order now you would get all Jumbo Cornish X. We have purchased the BBQ Special several times and we were very happy with it.

You might check out Welp. The cost listed for the chicks includes shipping.

I just checked the MM catalog.

The Frying Pan Special (Leghorns) is $16.50
BBQ Special (meat birds) is $37.50 for 25, $72.50 for 50
