First, I wanted to share with you what happens when I try to take pictures of the bantie chickens.. Quacker and Jax at their finest: Then, I picked up some ducklings off Craigslist to be friends for my orphan mallard. Can anyone tell me what I got? Penguin: (baby mallard on the right: )
Awww! so cute! I don't know what the tiny one is (but now I want one! LOL), or the blue looking one, but the dark one with the yellow chest looks just like my Alyssa and Daphne did when they were ducklings. They grew up to be bibbed Swedish. Daphne is a black phase with a beautiful big white bib splashed across her chest. Alyssa is a crested black phase with a little white backwards C on her chest. So, i think yours is also a Swedish. ETA: Looking at their bills, maybe they are Hookbills? I dunno. I'm just guessing based on what I've read.
Penguin is just so cute...I am tempted to say that little one may be a muscovy- I would also say Runner for the lighter- and Swede for the darker one.
I love them.. The grey one has the same type of bill as the black one. And lil penguin, well, turned me to mush the second I saw it. The mallard is very very happy to have his own kind to socialize with... it was hard for him to have only human and cat companionship- hates us, but would cry when we left the room. Now he can ignore us and be a duck.
I think the little one is a Muscovy, the black one is maybe a Black Swedish & the light one is a Runner or RunnerX they're all really cute though, especially the little one
so Muscovy, Swedish and two votes for runner? It sure doesnt stand upright though...slouchy runner? lol. Cute. My husband thought i snuck home a gosling though hahahahaha. The grey one looks like it could maybe pretend to be a gosling. hmmm. Wonder if I COULD bring home a gosling and tell him it was a duck...
I'm going to say that the two bigger ones are Swedish. They look like a black and a blue. Look like my two babies when they were small.
