    Hello all,

This is the site I have found most helpful for our "chicken journey"; thanks for the great information. We just hatched this past Monday/Tuesday and 8 of 10 are happily exploring their brooder box. We have 2 Buffs, 2 Crele Penedesenca/Ameraucana crosses and 4 Ameraucanas. They were given to us (along with the use of the incubator and turner) by a long time customer at our metal fabrication/machine shop. Our kids Rebekah (age 5) and Ramsey (age (3) are absolutely enthralled with the birds.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. My 6 year old granddaughter loves our chickens as well. The Ameraucanas (actually ours are Easter Eggers as true Ameraucanas lay only blue eggs) are her favorites. She loves the different colored eggs the EEs lay. Raising chickens is a great experience for children. Good luck with your flock.
