Late yesterday one of my EEs had frothy eye. I wiped it off and the froth came back. One more time wiping it with a cloth and today no sign of frothy eye. Reading about frothy eye as a symptom of respiratory illness gave me a bad night's sleep. So i called the vet today and he said that he could check the cornea, etc.

Anyone else have this situation and should I follow up with the vet with no frothy eye symptom showing?

Thanks for all the good info on this site.

Going to the Vet with out any symptoms could be wasting money
but I would not tell you not to go .....

I have had this problem before and I just cleaned it a few times
and as funny as it sounds I gave the chicken a bath using only
dish soap in the water and had great results .....

Also I do this a bit Probiotic in their water for a couple of days
just incase and for vitamins I give them a smashed up boiled
egg

Sounds like a good option. This morning, still not frothy eye. Could it have been an irritant? We're getting a lot of rain (finally) here in California, so I'll see about bathing her and keeping her isolated to dry.

Thanks again for the info.

Sounds like you got the eye Irritated but keep it clean if you can
and to just make sure keep her quarantined for a week or two
just incase because if it is a disseize and not just an infection you
could have a devastating affect better to be safe then sorry ......
I hope this helps as you did not post any photos of the frothy eye
so I would suggest if you have a good camera to take a photo of the
incident you wish to post so other people who might have had the
same problem can better assets you and better advise you with the
problem ........
