My chicks are in the shed in a brooder with a heat lamp, and the weather lately has been SO whacky it's driving me crazy! I work full time, so I can't adjust the heat lamp. It's been 90* both yesterday and today, but when I leave for work in the morning it's only around 70*. I have to leave the lamp on because I don't want them to chill before it warms up outside, but I don't want to roast them either! I raised it up pretty far this morning, and tried to slide it just to one side of the brooder. I'm hoping they can get far enough away to stay cool now that it's so hot. Luckily, the weather is supposed to return to normal tomorrow, so I won't have to worry as much!
