Oh darn! I was doing great until the question about what state I lived in! I hope you find your babies an excellent home! I was talking to my husband about phasing out the chickens and only having ducks, which would open up a whole new run/coop for either another breed, or laying only ducks.

well im gonna change the state rule i think:D so u could still get em maybe:) as long as you live in new england, its fine

Also, if you are willing to take 2 roosters, I have a friend who is in the same situation as me and TRUST ME loves hers just as much, but she cant find anywhere to bring them even though they are by far the friendliest roosters ive ever met! Theyre really cute! one is a leghorn with brown feathers on its wings and a huge rosecomb (named sonny), and the other is a mix or some kind that is really beautiful, being black with a green sheen, and having little golden feathers inlaid all over his neck. (his name is blueberry) blueberry has an amazing crow too. (I hatched these two chickens at my house because she had too many but gave them to her and they are just the best:)) Anyway, I hope you can either still take the ducks or take these chickens because my friend and I are both really desperate, and my friend may be willing to go further dstances for her chickens

I am really glad that you are trying so hard to find your ducks a great home. But do remember once you give them away they are no longer yours and the people who own them will do their best but they will be their ducks. I don't think anyone can provide a 100% ensure that no predator will ever get these ducks life does happen. I know there are people on here that have ducks and treat them really great but don't have a heated everything. good luck.

Everyone sounds great so far!~thank you! sounds like I will have a hard time picking:)

ps. @schellie59, I understand that fully, but since there are apparently so many people out there that will take good care of them, I rather go with the ones that at least have a better chance of keeping them predator proof i never asked guarentee that a predator will never eat them, I just asked for the best protection possible. And also, it is nessessary for the pumps and such, because without a heater they could dehydrate while their water is cold during the winter;)

I am in Southern ME. I would love to have them, depending on the sexes of the ducks. I have one drake and three girls now. Not sure about adding any more drakes to be fair to the boy I have. I have exceptional references and a great, very safe, predator proof set up. My ducks have heated water in their pool in the winter and a heated drinking water bowl in the winter. Plenty of play time. I don't eat duck meat, actually I don't even eat duck eggs. Don't have chickens because I DO eat chicken and could not eat a species that I keep for a pet.
PM me if you want to talk.
