Okay, I have decided the next time I get chicken's, I'm not buying new chicks anymore. I had the opportunity to go to John Teel's Poultry Auction in Durant, OK this evening. Chicken's were very inexpensive and what a selection! There were all kinds of breeds, most of which I had never heard of. It was a lot of fun and hope to go back again soon![IMG]

Just be extremely careful buying birds from auctions. People normally bring birds they just have as extras, but some are culls that may have some sort of issue you'll have to deal with when you get home. There's normally a reason why they are so inexpensive.

Here is a link to a thread I started with my thoughts and experiences about chicken auctions: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=439137
