I was watching Chopped Champions on the food net work last night and thought this was hilarious. It was the final round of a competion for $50,000 and the dessert round. The basket contained turbo sugar, bread flour, goats milk and arucana eggs. (sounded great to me). One of the cooks who had been complimented on her creativity decided against baking so she decided to make some type of parfait. She freaked out over the arucana eggs, said she didn't know what they were (hee, hee). Then she decided she would soft boil them (actually steamed them), planning to peel them, roll them in a mixture with nuts and deep fry them. She couldn't peel the eggs!!! She wound up using the yolks only and since they were soft boiled it was a mess. Needless to say creativity did not win. Guess she should have done her homework on BYC.
