The barred rock hatched Tue. morning and the buff orpington later that afternoon. They are now in the brooder and all are getting along great!! Wanted to share the photos of my first chicks ever with all of you, and to thank all of you for your fantastic help and advice, which made this possible!!!

Where did you obtain the eggs? I just hatched some cortunix quail, awesome experience! And would like to hatch some Buff orps in the future.

Not sure of the age difference. I got the five bigger ones at the farm store last Sunday and they already had their wing feathers.

I bought the eggs on ebay. I got a dozen that were a week in the mail. Six BR and six BO's. 2 arrived cracked. Another cracked when I tripped on the cord to the bator. So I'm thrilled I got one of each to hatch! It's been a great experience and my 7 yr. old grandaughter is here visiting for spring break so she got to enjoy watching the chicks hatch too!! There's also members here on the forum that I believe sell BO eggs to hatch.
