My fav roo (15 weeks old) is not doing well. He started acting a little strange on Saturday, gagging a little. Sunday am, roosting alone. In the run, he was raspy/gurgling gaping a little. I removed him
From the coop and put him in a dog crate with food and water. He got worse and stopped eating and drinking. I started giving him water with a syringe. I brought him into basement. Yesterday I gave him Safeguard paste thinking a gape worm. I then started giving him Tylan 1 teaspoon in gallon water last night with 30 cc syringe drip by drip. He seems to be good in am eats and drinks.. then starts gurgling again and gaping. Am I being impatient? Any suggestions?

Welcome To BYC

Can you post some photos of the cockerel and his poop?

Any bubbles in the eyes, mucous in the nostrils, etc.?

Is his crop completely empty in the morning before he's had anything to eat/drink?

Have you checked inside his beak for any lesions, canker, white/yellow pasty material or an obstruction?

Where are you located in the world?
