Our hens eat all the plants in our garden down to the roots, EXCEPT the weeds! Do you guys know of any nice looking plants that hens won't touch and won't harm them in any way please.

My chickens don't tend to eat plants, they just like digging them up

. When we let them out in the garden we usually end up with a bunch of dirt on the grass or patio. Once we tried planting a couple of things in their pen when we were digging up a boarder and had nowhere to put the plants. The only thing that survived was the nettles that we didn't realize were there. However, in answer to your question, my chickens go for anything colourful. If it is dull then it lives. Hope this helped

Diggin' and scratcin' is the name of their game. I have discovered over the years that the larger or more mature the plant is, the better off it is. But, chickens just can't help themselves when they get near freshly turned dirt. They just gotta dig. Roses work pretty good. What I do to really protect something is put wire around it until it is established. And then, you might consider using rocks as a mulch. Good luck, and just think of the eggs.;)
