Hello all, as this is my first visit, I thought I'd like to introduce myself, I'm divermike. I am looking at a pile of 2X4's for a small backyard coop, and will soon be building. Question is, insulate or not?? It gets cold here, but I've heard both sides argued, so let the fun begin, thanks by the way.

I don't insulate mine. chickens can handle the cold much better than heat, or unhealthy air. (I speak of experience) I would'nt sweat insulating. if it dips below freezing, you can always put a little plug in heater to take off the chill. I keep my coop windows open in the winter because I don't have proper venilation. They do great.
