geese acting strange

i have 2 geese (blue and sky) the are about a year old and free range in my orchard, yesterday i found blue (supposedly a male) sitting on a duck nest i passed it off as him just sitting there but he was still siting there this morning and he is acting broody now i am not sure what to do about it

From the sound of it, I'd say your Blue is a female possibly! Male geese sitting on a nest is pretty rare.

he is definitely a he and his mate sky does not seem to care about his apparent clutch of eggs is there maybe a type of goose that does this? shold i take the eggs away or leave him to it, or replace them with false ones?
