OK, I need help...I originally thought I had all roosters and only one pullet, however the breeder is telling me that they all might be hens except for one. Which I would SO MUCH prefer.
They are French Black Copper Marans and pure bred Americana's.
They They are two and half three months old.

The only hen I thought I had was maybe the lavender Americana and then the black copper maran that is right behind it in this picture.

This one has saddle feathers so i know he is a rooster.

This one I think is a pullet, think, only because ity is not developing the same as the black one who I am sure is a roo.

Any ideas? For the moment these are the best pictures I have. I will try and get some singles with side views and tail feathers.

They look like females right now but side view pictures would be better. :)

Can you get a side view, or a view of their backs? Young Black Copper Marans roosters almost always have red feather leakage going down their backs, while the females don't. Also, if you have good stock, your males will be huge bruisers right away while the females grow more slowly.

Quote:I think you are spot on with your guesses. Unfortunately the only FBCMs that look female so far are 1 and 2 (though it's hard to see #2s tail).

    My bets are

    1&2 hens
    3&4 roo

    A1 looks like a hen
A 2 looks like a hen but slow feathering lavs are tricky for me.

Hu, A1 really looks like a hen to you? Is it because of how your hens grow or is there any specific reason?
The little bugger acts very bold, stands right up, and is the first to steal peas from my hand lol. I will be very happy if I just have a very brazened hen
Awesome, two hens! That is what I like to hear :D
And if the lavender is a pullet that will just make my mother thrilled! I know for a fact that someone is crowing out in the pen and I think its one of the FBCM.
