These are hatchery quality blue marans, five and a half weeks old. I tried looking at hackle feathers and I don't see much of a difference.

I'm pretty sure K here is a male.

I'm guessing that these two are female. They're smaller, and they have no wattle growth yet.
    This one is G

The next two I'm not so sure of. This one is my favorite, A. She seems to be smaller, like I and G, but she's got a little bit of wattle growth.

This last one is H. She's a little bigger, more like K. Her wattles are just barely starting to grow, like A, and she's got a really long tail.

Any ideas? I can get more/better pictures if you need them. Thanks.

I commented next to the ones I think are boys. And hackle and saddle feathers don't come in until around 14 weeks.

Thanks. I guess that explains why I couldn't see a difference. So it looks like A is a male and H a female?

The last one is suspicious looking, keep an eye on that comb. If it reddens up in the next week or so, well you know. The others look like pullets at this point.

Whoops, I lost track of time and miscalculated their age. They're only four and a half weeks old.

Yup, I think you're right. The two I wasn't sure about are growing bigger combs and their wattles are coming in dark red. I'm really sad about Aspen, my favorite. He's always jumping into my lap, and he's the prettiest...but we can't have roosters.
