Thanks! I hope y'all are right about #1, I am very suspicious of that one. That comb is pretty darn red, more so than the picture shows. Any other opinions on #1?
I've read that the EE's color pattern can help you tell the gender, but I can't find any details. Could someone please explain that to me also?
I am trying to learn how to sex birds from just looking at them, so I am curious about the folks who said #1 is a pullet- why? I looked at #1 and saw- very upright stance, big old legs, reddened comb, high center of gravity and the feathers along the neck seem to be pointed although it's hard to tell from the slightly fuzzy photo. These all seem to be pointing to #1 being a male. Why did some folks guess pullet? I am trying to get better at sexing by eye, so any help is appreciated.
