I bought two chicks from the feed store at 14 weeks, they should be roughly 20 weeks now. They looked like pullets when I bought them, but now I'm thinking Reba, the Rhode Island Red,[IMG][/IMG] is a roo? What do you guys think?

Definitely a cockerel. Absolutely no doubt.

If you don't already know, you have another rooster behind this one on the left.

Oh, I know. I took in 5 rescue chicks, 3 were roosters and 1 of the two hens developed some sort of leg deformity, so all but 1 rooster and 1 hen went in the pot. I could tell which ones were roosters at a very young age. Then I bought 2 older pullets and one ended up being a roo. I'm not having the best of luck on the hen front, lol. Now I need to decide which rooster stays and which one is dinner. I think the red will be better eating, but he's so friendly. I'll have to make a decision soon, though. Does anyone know if 20+ weeks will be too tough? They don't free range.
