I'm so fascinated by chicken genetics! Two of my 7mo BSL hens have very small black combs and wattles. One is slightly mottled. Is there a particular breed or gene that would cause this?
My other 7mo BSL "Rexy" has a very normal big red comb and big wattles and has since she was little. Nice deep red!
What gives?
