Can I use a Gentamicin Spray on my chickens foot. She is actively trying not to use it. What can I use to clean it with that will address possible infection? And can I put a Triple Antibiotic on it? What can I use till I get to the feed store?

Is it cut or is there a scab? Do you have pictures? You can use a disinfectant such as 2% chlorhexidene, weak Betadine iodine, or aoap and water to clean it. Plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment is fine to use. Gentamycin spray might help if there is infection, but gentamycin usually only treats certain bacteria, usually gram negative bacteria, such as E.coli. It would not be a good choice if you are seeing bumblefoot which would likely be a gram positive bacteria such as staphylococcus.

I did clean it with Chlorahexidine Scrub, that I have used at the clinic before. There was no swelling, or open wounds. I am assuming this is a sprain. She is toe tapping to balance, which I know dogs with muscle strains. I have wrapped it with vet wrap to give it support.. just going to continue to isolate her, make sure she has daily vitamins and increase her natural intake of B Complex vitamins... not sure what else I can do.. any ideas??
