(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is my second go around at trying to raise chickens. My 9 year old asked could we get more chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 14 chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I know that I have Leghorn, Buff Orpington and think that I may have Rhode Island Reds and not sure if I have a fourth kind.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
i found it the first time that I was raising chickens. I found it on a homestead site.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I do sewing, reading, crocheting and lots of other crafts.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I am the mother of 4 boys ages 24, 22, 14, and 9. I have been married for 19 years. We have 1 black cat that likes to sit on top of the coop and look at the chicks. He does not chase them or anything.

G'Day from down under gagirl40 :frowWelcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock and/or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
