Get chicks in coop at night

We stuck our babys chicks out two nights ago. The problem i'm having is getting them to go in the coop at night I tried food and treats them just dont want to go in I have to hand catch all 13 and place them inside. any tips for this greenhorn?

You're probably free-ranging them, like we do, but you may need to lock them in the coop for a few weeks. Otherwise just sticking 'em in there should do the trick.

It's a lot easier if you have a mother hen, b/c they usually WANT to roost, and thus the babies follow them...

You did not say, so I am going to suggest a light in the coop to entice them to go in. When I pit our first batch of chicks out, I kept them in the coop for two days to make sure they knew it was home. Good luck!

The light is the best idea. Also the coop area needs to be comfortable- does it have roosts? Is there enough room for everyone? Not too hot and stuffy?
